When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.

This is one of my rare, finished digital painting. The theme was Jun's ([link]) idea in Anindo forum, Wayang Online, a make-believe comic based on yet-another make-believe massively multiplayer multiplatform adventure role-playing online game. The idea is to come up with character designs based on wayang stories. Wayang is Javanese shadow puppet show originating from India's Hindu culture.
The main focus in this painting is the giant. I simply call him Buta, which means "Giant" in Javanese language, because I could not come up with a good Javanese giant name I scanned in the line drawing, used Open Canvas to colour and Photoshop for adjustments after colouring. In case you are interested, the writing on Buta's back reads "Buta" (surprisingly) XD It is in Aksara Jawa (Javanese letters). Finally, let me acknowledge Anindo people's feedback for this final version: (the amazing, great, etc, etc) Monsu ([link]) suggested correcting the perspective of the writing in addition to darkening Buta's left lower arm; and (the ever hyperactive, young, enthusiastic, hysterical, etc, etc) Mizu ([link]) suggested adjusting brightness/contrast of the background sky. Other people also gave me comments and feedbacks which even though not taken were certainly appreciated [You may ask why the hell I'm making this such a big thing. That's because I'm new to digital painting and feedbacks are always wonderful to listen to |
